WTF spam: How to tell if a guy is…
… a virgin. 
No, seriously, people. Someone really asked this. In an email.
Of course, it’s one of the annoying spam messages. Still, one wonders. Besides being adorably WTF, this question is serious. I mean SERIOUS! No kidding.
Just think about it. The first thing you’ll notice the double standard. Like it’s so much worse for a guy to be a virgin than for a girl. Now why is that? Do people still buy that double standard crap? Do we still believe male sexuality (and their needs and ability to control them) are so different than female? Think about it, I’m telling you.
Like any other serious subject, this one gave us some pretty hilarious Yahoo answers. I’m not going to help you here, you must find them all by yourselves. There are pretty mind blowing ones. Seriously.
What I found the most interesting here is that nobody explains WHY is this information so important. It’s just taken for granted. Isn’t that sad?

seriously, iunno why anyone ever cares about another person’s virginity, but i do know why there’s a double-standard. it’s lame. and the funniest part is that even though guys have more pressure on them to be “studs” while women are expected to be virtual prudes, the reality is quite the opposite. men have far less sex than women do, quite simply because in every day interaction women are the ones who get to decide if sex occurs or not.
did someone ask you about this in a spam email? or was it just a random email?

Well, in my experience, virgin guys talk about sex all the time (all the time), while virgin girls do see men and sex as something gross. These are not the absolute indicators, but they can help.
This was an ordinary spam message. The subject of the message was: “hey, how to tell if a guy is a virgin?” I don’t know what was in the message, I don’t mess with spam, but it caught my attention because it wasn’t the usual Britney nude, enlarge your p3nis, get lucky tonight sort of spam.
So I wonder about the target audience for this kind of spam. I don’t know if it’s meant for men (to hide their virginity), or women (to learn how to recognize virgin men).

I don’t know about other countries but here in Brazil boys lose their virginity early, they are really stimulated by other boys and older men that live with them to become a “man-whore”, the easiest way is starting as soon as they can. Normally someone hires him a prostitute, not healthy but really common especially on 18 years old birthdays. But, starting early doens’t mean that this boy is becoming sexually active.
Girls, on the other hand, are raised to be pure, what don’t really work. Since the advent of Britney Spears some girls don’t want to be virgins anymore, they want at least look experienced.

It’s the same here… Well, minus the prostitute. I don’t think they do this here. But yes, it’s an imperative for a guy to lose his virginity as soon as possible. Before graduation from the high school, that’s for sure. Also, it’s considered macho and extremely masculine to have as many women as you can during your life, even if you’re in a long-term relationship. This doesn’t mean you SHOULD cheat on your girlfriend, but you certainly must behave like you’d fuck any woman that comes along your way.
Girls? This is interesting. Premarital sex is the norm here. It’s tricky- a girl/woman should be experienced- but not too experienced (you don’t want to be called a slut). It’s expected for a girl to lose her virginity around 18 years of age, with a guy they’re in a relationship for at least several months. Also, a girl must play hard to get- being flirty and talking about sex will label you as a whore. Note that it’s, again, all about presentation, not the actual thing. A virgin girl who flirts a lot and talks about sex will be labeled “slut” in no time. A woman who has sex with a different man each night but keeps her mouth shut about it would never be called a whore.
All in all, men are advised to talk about sex (and talk about getting lots of it) even if they don’t, while women are advised not to talk about sex even if they’re getting lots of it.
Hence, it’s difficult for me to say who has more sex. Zek is right- women decide about sex and, in theory, it’s more easier for them to get sex then for men. But like I said, no man here would admit he’s 25 an had sex with only one woman, when he was 19, and nothing afterwards- so I am not quite sure if women are, indeed, getting more sex than men.
PS-Like I said, it’s a strong pressure for you, boy or a girl, to lose your virginity before you graduate from high school. In reality, I think only 30% of people lost their virginity in high school. None of the guys would admit they’re still virgins, though.

But more to the subject matter; Where I grew up all the girls ran away with military guys, leaving only old and desperate women to the local boys’ care. I have standards for chrissakes.

True, true. But I can sense a double standard here. It’s still believed that it’s “not the same” for girls. True, it’s partly because of anatomy, but still…
