Ask me a question

Several people asked me why there wasn’t “ask & answer” feature here. Which is surprising, not because all sites should have one, but because I don’t get many visitors- hence, “several” (read: two) people interested in it came as a surprise.

“Ask & answer” feature was a popular trend around 2005, and it’s been used & abused. Not being a trendy girl, I ignored it. But since there are people interested in it, and I am trying to please my visitors, both of you can relax: ask & answer feature is here.

So, here it is…

Ask a question

What to ask? What not to ask?

It’s completely up to you. Hopefully, questions will help me create a decent “FAQ” section and tell me what people think about this site and what they (both) want to see here. Since nobody uses contact form.

As for nasty, offensive and otherwise stupid questions- like I said in the rules, I am not easily offended. But of course I reserve the right not to answer on any questions I choose not to.

I heard people tend to get all sorts of bizarre and pointless questions, but what else to expect?- This is internet after all, and people are bored. So go ahead, make my day.

It’s Jefflion’s birthday today!

A little more than two years ago, I found this page, and the rest is… Well, history.

Ok, I know it’s lame. I know. Still, nothing makes me laugh more than absurd, and I find this one – no matter how stupid and random and pointless and, well, lame it may be – irresistible. To the point I’ve decided to name my website after it.

Jefflion.net was born (well, registered) on September 12th 2007. I honestly don’t remember if I created an actual website right away, or a few weeks later. In any case:

Happy birthday jefflion.net!
(May the hair on your footer never fall out)

Writing fanlisting wills

I believe this will be my new spitting soon… I just feel like posting the rant here first.

It’s about making fanlisting wills. To be completely honest, I don’t know if this trend is new or not. What’s shocking about it is the fact it exists. All over the place.

So, you join a fanlisting (yes, fanlistings again!) or someone join yours, and you visit their fanlisting collective. You get to see all of their current and upcoming fanlistings, and some brave people still display their wishlists (brave, I say, because we all know showing your wishlist can get you in a very bad position of being blackmailed by other fl owners).

But there’s another thing, and it’s new to me. Fanlisting wills. First there were K.I.M. (Keep in Mind) lists, but suddenly, they transformed into wills. Yes, wills. In short, in case they die, particular people will inherit their precious fanlistings. Right. I don’t really have a problem with it- except the fact is unrealistic… In case they do die, who on the Earth would think about stupid fanlistings? And in case they do think about them, who would be the person who’d access fls and send db tables and codes to the new owners? I don’t know how many owners remembered to leave their db settings and passwords to trusted people, just in case. Ok, I won’t continue. It’s too morbid. Writing wills is not a fun thing to do, maybe not even when you’re 95 years old, and it sure ISN’T fun when you’re in your late teens like most of the fanlisting owners.

And there’s another thing. With so many people displaying their “to kill for” lists, what would happen if someone finds their “to kill for fanlisting” on someone’s will?

Yes, I’m being sarcastic. But. Think about it. Another idiotic trend for spoiled kids who have no respect or understanding for anything more serious than the new episode of their favourite TV show. And now more and more people will follow because it is another “in” thing to have on your website.

PS- On a brighter side, I have two new friends (link exchanges): Susan (orange moon) and Lisa (auberginer.org). :)

Updated trash and shoe throwing

I’ve decided to update my site here and there, not just blog. I guess there’s so much to learn here. Today, I present you the Trash section. A place for some of the Internet crap.

I added the videos section. I hope it will grow. I started with a cute little video of on man throwing his shoe on another man. Take a look: Bush Dodges Shoes Thrown by Iraqi Journalist

Like I said, the video itself is not important, what I find particularly interesting are the comments that can be found on video’s youtube page.

Speaking of the video, I love the confused-almost-smiling look on Bush’s face when he saw shoe flying in his direction.

Lists: Screwed up

Guess what happened 30 seconds ago? I realized all lists (ordered and unordered) on this site are screwed up (text is centered uuuuugh… Ugly!) Why didn’t you tell me about it? Why didn’t I realize it before (about 4 months ago)??!?!?!

I guess that’s another thing to put on my “dva du” (2 do) list. That’s right, I’m NOT fixing the crap right away, I’ll do it… later. I promise.

EXAMPLES!!!! EXAMPLES!!! EXAMPLES!!!!

And here: Past Trends
… and here: Spittings (But I *kind of* wanted spittings page to look like this).
